It's true. I love to write. I should really find time to do it more than I currently do, because it seems like whenever I do get the opportunity to write something, it is for a class assignment. Very rarely do I just sit down and write for myself, but I wish that I did. Writing is a way to express myself without being interrupted or distracted. I am a confident writer, and I think that is a result of the support I have had from teachers in the past.
When I was in 4th grade, I was really introduced to writing for fun. Every morning in class, we would be given half an hour to 'free write' in our journals. Sometimes we would be given a topic or a storyline to finish ourselves. I thought this was a great experience to write creatively without worrying about being graded or critiqued for my thoughts.
I think that writing can be fun, even when it is for a grade--because it can be viewed more objectively than a subjective multiple choice test. There is always a grey area in writing, and I think that keeps it fun and entertaining for me.
This class blog provides a forum for PR students to practice their blog writing and learn more about social media in PR practice.

We did the same thing Katie. I think honestly the creative writing and free flow of ideas that was simply for fun from grade school is what got me hooked on writing and reading when I was little. It was such a fun experience and they did nothing but encourage your ideas and it really got me excited about writing things
