Thoughts on Writing
One of the earliest forms of communication has been writing throughout the history of mankind. Much like history, writing has its up and downs for me; its highs and lows. Getting an "A" on a paper or just writing something well can make me feel really good. However, making a huge typo like the kind that show up on Jay Leno's headlines can make anyone feel like an idiot. Typos like that make writing very tricky because in your own mind, what you write seems pretty good, but that might not always be the case. Things like spell check are my best friend, and anyone who edits my paper well becomes my best friend also. English is a complex language, thus it isn't always easy to put your thoughts onto a piece of paper. I like to make analogies to help demonstrate my point and I feel that writing can be best described as an intimidating roller coaster ride. Essentially you either get off the ride feeling proud of yourself or you can end up losing your pride and your lunch.
