What Writing Means to Me

Writing to me is a way of self expression and personal identification. To be unique is to follow your own intuitions and thoughts and not those of others. I feel like sometimes to be unique is hard when surrounded with peers, yet, writing will ALWAYS allow you to be you. Writing is a way to express ones personal thoughts and ideas and can be often times an inside look into how someone really thinks, acts, or feels. So, to me, writing helps me better express myself in ways that it is hard to otherwise do verbally to peers or family.

Writing to me is also a way of proving to myself what I am able to accomplish. Over the years, numerous papers have been assigned some easy, but many with hard topics that needed research, drafting, editing, and more editing. But, to me this is a fun challenge to go through with whatever paper it may be. It helps me prove to a teacher, a friend, or myself how well i can write and edit my own work and put ideas together into one.

Writing to me is both self identification and a way to challenge my knowledge and writing skills but ultimately writing is what makes me, me.

I also like the who aspect of proving yourself as a good writer. It gives you a goal and can focus you toward making a good paper. I like your perspective on writing.

I completely agree. I think writing is a great way to be able to express youself and your uniqueness. Sometimes people get nervous to express their opinions but I think when it is written, it is much easier to do!
