Writing, to me, is a bridge of communication between myself and the world. The beauty of it, is that writing can be expressed through many different venues: songs, poems, letters, stories, articles, and now with new technology e-mails and faxes. But despite each different approach, you are sharing a part of yourself- what you know, how you feel, your inner-most thoughts, or even just information with the world. Writing provides us with an opportunity to communicate to others in such a way that we can show just that much more of who we are. That makes it rare and valuable.
Writing, to me, is a possibility.

The analogy of a bridge is a very powerful comparison. It is so true that so much of writing's value is that it can be in so many different forms. In addition to our opportunity to express ourselves I think it is also important to remember the value of others' words and the power of what we read, particularly in things that seem so commonplace to us, as you mentioned, such as e-mail.
I love how you say writing is a possibility. I think writing is so underrated in the fact that it really does have so many possibilities. Writing can transport you to another world, especially in cases like the Harry Potter books. Writing is so amazing and I love that it can take you anywhere!
I also agree with the fact of the analogy you made of how a bridge is a very powerful comparison to writing. I believe that writing is one of the oldest ways to communicate and it has survived years and years of changes and i believe that its a bridge that will never "burn down." This is what makes writing one of the biggest bridges to communication in the world and the most powerful. Even if emails and technology was non existant writing would still keep us connected and will continue to do so for years to come!
