I first discovered the joys of writing when I was in 2nd grade. I won a writing contest and got to meet the author Marc Brown, the author of the "Arthur" series. For me, that day showed me where writing could get you. I craved it.
Now, as a Public Relations major writing is my future. It is essential in the PR field to sharpen your writing skills and to be able to communicate clearly. My writing now has to be concise, to the point. I must be able to grab the publics' attention through my words. The past years at Marquette have helped me refine my writing, and have taught me what kind of writing is necessary to succeed in PR. Writing is the key to my future, so it essential that I continue to develop my writing. Not only is writing a passion of mine, it is now going to help me find a career in the future.
This class blog provides a forum for PR students to practice their blog writing and learn more about social media in PR practice.

I agree with you, Meghan. I think that writing is an important skill to have in the PR profession. You must be able to communicate clearly in order to be successful. I think that one of the biggest challenges in PR writing is to be concise and to the point. The past few years at Marquette have definitely helped me improve that skill.
Meghan, I agree that communicating concise and clearly is very important. Also, I think it is incredible that you were able to meet Mark Brown!
